Free Web space

Well Almost free at least!  These are some links to directories that will help you find free or low cost places for your web site.  Along with a couple free web servers for sites.

I will remind you that a site with no adds is preferred for a Scouting site.  I will also tell you "Good Luck" on finding one that is free!  But, BE CAREFUL  on what type of adds are placed on your site!!

Free Servers

http://www.scouttroop.org/ - TAPO, a site devoted to free web space for Scouting sites. You are allowed 15Mb of space.

http://www.geocites.com - Geocites, part of the Yahoo group.  This probably one of the oldest and most stable of the free servers.  I have three sites there, a Troop, a Pack and one that is a directory of Scouting sites on the web.  I haven't really had much of a problem with them at all, but if you do "Good Luck" on getting any Tech support, it's more like what support!  You are allowed 15Mb of space

http://bravenet.com - Bravenet has many features you may want to use on your site even if you do not have them host it.  I used them to host this site to see what they were like since they offer 100Mb of space.  And I liked their special features they offer (like I said).  I will also say this (ashamed to admit it), I had some problems at first trying to get this site uploaded to their server and the response from their Tech support was GREAT!!  I may not be happy about the adds, but everything else has been a PLUS!

Low Cost

http://www.bsatroops.org/index.htm - This site offers 50 Mb of space for $25 a year.  You'll find this one of the best, if not the best deals you can get.
